GEO3BCN units
The Administration and General Services depend directly from the Institute’s Manager and give service to all research groups; services and labs. In particular, the Management Service performs the following tasks: Human Resources, project management and purchasing and procurement.

Maintenance
The workshop and maintenance service is a multipurpose team performing tasks such as supply, maintenance, repair, and design and modification activities of the building and equipment (mechanic, electronic and electric)

Computing and Communications Service
The main objective of this service is to facilitate the communication and computing tools and basic and advanced services to allow researchers of the GEO3BCN to achieve their scientific objectives. The unit manages a network infrastructure compose of about 150 medium size computers, a wifi spread throughout the building, some server-oriented computing, storage and connectivity with the Scientifc Ring/RedIris/Geant2.

Communications Unit
The Communications Unit is responsible for managing the content of the institutional website and social media sites, creating also multimedia content. This department works closely with members of the Institute to place research news in print and electronic media managing a wide media contacts database and responds to media information requests. The Unit coordinates some of the outreach and dissemination activities carried out by our researchers.

Library
The Library of Geology (UB-CSIC), housed in the Faculty of Earth Sciences of the University of Barcelona (UB), is jointly managed by the Faculty of Geology of the University of Barcelona (UB) and Geociencias Barcelona (GEO3BCN-CSIC). Founded in 1983, aims at the dissemination of publications in the broad field of the Earth Sciences.
